The Amazing Race Australia is a reality based racing game show. The TV series is an imitation of the American Franchise of the same name, The Amazing Race. Seven Network bought the format rights for the Australian Version on 19 July 2010.

The Amazing Race Australia did not return in 2016, 2017 and now all eyes on 2018 season. From last two year fans has been continuously asking and eagerly waiting for new season, though no official comment or news on it. If you visit Amazing Race Australia official fb page and read visitors post or comments, you will see how eagerly fans are waiting for new season and wants to participate in the auditions.

Based on previous season below are the expected auditions:

  • There must be 2 applicants in a team.
  • you should be 21 years or more.
  • Both applicants in the team should be residents of Australia or New Zealand.
  • The applicants must share about themselves.
  • They must also say why the want to join the race.
  • The applicants will provide 3 passport size photos of themselves.

About The Amazing Race Australia:

The first two seasons of the show were produced by activeTV in association with ABC Studios while the third series is to be produced exclusively by Seven Network.

It is distributed by Disney Media Distribution Asia Pacific and the presenter of the show is New Zealand-born actor Grant Bowler.

It is the third Asia-Pacific version of the franchise after The Amazing Race Asia and The Amazing Race: China Rush.

The format of the show is based on speed and pace. It includes teams of two, who travel throughout the worlds to obtain clues to reach “Pit Stops”and get rewards. Each team has to arrive at quickly at the “Pit Stops” to avoid being the ones arriving there at last. Arriving there at the first place makes them the winner and offers them price money which could be as high as A$10,000. While being the last one puts the team in the elimination zone and hands them with certain disadvantages for the next leg.

Each team is composed of two individuals who have some type of relationship to each other. A total of 64 participants have joined The Amazing Race Australia.

Contestants travel to and within multiple countries in a variety of transportation modes, including airplanes, hot air balloons, helicopters, trucks, bicycles, taxicabs, cars, trains, buses, boats, and by foot.

At the end of each leg they are provided with certain clues that lead them to their next destination or direct them through a task they have to perform, either together or by a single member.

The various challenges they face in the way are totally based on the culture and traditions of the country they are in. On the basis of their performance the teams are eliminated and only three teams are left towards the end. Now, the team that arrives first in the final leg is declared the winner and is awarded the grand prize which is equal to A$250,000.

The first season made debut in May 2011 and ended in August 2011. Then only after a year’s gap the second season started screening on premiered in May 2012 and ended in August 2012.

The third season was then set for release in 2013 but due to a rival show’s time clashing with it did not appear on television. The show was replaced by an unsuccessful renewal, The Mole. The season then actually launched in August 2014, involving teams from New Zealand also. This time the show was and titled as, The Amazing Race Australia v New Zealand.

The show is a highly popular among the audience. Its huge viewership has resulted in several spin0offs and currently the show is running in various other regions too like Currently, the show is being run in countries like – Australia, New Zealand, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Israel, Norway, Philippines, Ukraine and Vietnam.
